How to Make Malabar Fish Curry

Prepare Malabar Fish Curry

  • Step 1

    Marinade the fish with lemon juice and turmeric powder.

  • Step 2

    In a pan, add oil, whole garam masala, mustard seeds, curry leaves, shallots, whole garlic cloves, and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

  • Step 3

    Add ginger, garlic paste and tomato, and sauté for another 2-3 minutes.

  • Step 4

    Add the dry spice powder and salt, sprinkle some water, and cook on slow flame for 4-5 minutes.

  • Step 5

    Add fish, coconut milk, and a little bit of water, and cook for 8-10 minutes.

  • Serving Suggestions:

    Add tamarind pulp and chopped coriander. Serve hot.
