How to Make Tres Leches

Prepare Tres Leches

  • Step 1

    Preparation of Sponge

    • a. In a stand mixer, combine yoghurt, oil, water and vanilla.
    • b. Sift flour, baking powder, and baking soda through a fine sieve 2-3 times.
    • c. Gently fold in all the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until homogeneous.
    • d. Bake at 170°C for 25-30 mins.
  • Step 2

    Preparation of Tres Leches Cream

    • a. Boil milk and let it cool to 60°C. Once cooled, add 150 g of fresh cream and mix well.
    • b. To the milk mixture, add 100 g of NESTLÉ® MILKMAID® Sweetened Condensed Milk and a dash of vanilla flavour.
    • c. Pour the milk mixture into a deep pan, place the sponge in the center while it’s still warm.
    • d. Keep the dessert in the refrigerator while preparing the garnish.
  • Step 3

    Preparation of Cake Frosting

    • a. Ensure all ingredients are chilled at 2-5°C before starting.
    • b. Whisk 50 g of NESTLÉ® MILKMAID® Sweetened Condensed Milk and 125 g of Fresh Cream in a stand mixer at low speed for 2 minutes.
    • c. Add non dairy cream and whisk again at medium to high speed for 8-9 minutes followed by slow speed for 1-2 minutes.
  • Step 4

    Assembly of the cake

    • a. Top the Tres Leches with whipping cream made with NESTLÉ® MILKMAID® Sweetened Condensed Milk and garnish with sliced pistachio slivers/fresh berries.
  • Serving Suggestions:

    Serve chilled.
