Gil-E-Firdaus

Gil-E-Firdaus is as royal as its name! This Hyderabadi dessert is prepared with all the rich and flavourful ingredients, and is a staple at weddings or special occasions. It contains a combination of sago pearls, milk, bottle gourd, basmati rice, and Nestlé MILKMAID®, which are slow cooked and thickened to relish.

    50 ml
  • Cardamom powder

How to Make Gil -E-Firdaus

Prepare Gil -E-Firdaus

  • Step 1

    Wash and soak sabudana and rice for 1 hour. Grind the rice in coarse paste.

  • Step 2

    In a heavy bottom pot, heat ghee and fry the dry fruits and keep aside.

  • Step 3

    In the same pot, add grated bottle gourd and fry for some time and add milk.

  • Step 4

    In a separate pan, heat milk along with some water and boil sabudana.

  • Step 5

    Add MILKMAID®, rice paste and cardamom powder, and cook well.

  • Step 6

    Mix both the mixtures together and cook until it achieves a thick consistancy.

  • Step 7

    Garnish with dry fruits and serve.
