How to Make Dulce Salted Caramel Cake

Prepare Dulce Salted Caramel Cake

  • Step 1

    Preparation of Dulce

    • a. Immerse the NESTLÉ® MILKMAID® Sweetened Condensed Milk Tin in boiling water.
    • b. Simmer at low heat for 2.5 hours.
    • c. Let it cool. The dulce should have a thick spreadable consistency for the recipe.
  • Step 2

    Preparation of Sponge

    • a. In a stand mixer, whisk unsalted butter (100 g) and sugar until smooth. Add NESTLÉ® MILKMAID® Sweetened Condensed Milk(100 g) , mix until well combined.
    • b. Sift together flour, baking soda and baking powder 2-3 times.
    • c. Add the flour blend to the mixing bowl along with the butter mixture. Mix well, then add milk to form a smooth batter.
    • d. Bake in a preheated oven at 180° C for 25-30 minutes.
    • e. All the sponge to cool to room temperature
  • Step 3

    Preparation of Buttercream Frosting

    • a. In a stand mixer with a balloon attachment, whisk soft butter(250 g) and icing sugar at medium speed until soft peaks form.
    • b. Add vanilla essence and gently fold in.
    • c. Whisk in half of the sea salt granules into the frosting.
       
  • Step 4

    Assembly of Cake

    • a. Slice the sponge and layer with dulce, followed by buttercream icing.
    • b. Coat the cake with buttercream icing, then drizzle liquid dulce over it. Sprinkle the remaining sea salt granules.
    • c. Decorate the cake with a generous helping of toasted almond flakes.
